RHA Welcome Jacks
So, what exactly is a Welcome Jack anyway?
The Welcome Jacks are a group of students, new to SFA, who are interested in getting involved on campus. Welcome Jacks get to move-in to the residence halls a day before all other residents, get to know the hall officers and staff, help other residents move in, and participate in the Welcome Week activity that RHA hosts.
What will I get from being a Welcome Jack?
Besides getting to move in early and getting a free t-shirt, you also earn the opportunity to immerse yourself in the largest organization on campus. If you are chosen to be a Welcome Jack, you will have the opportunity to make friends for life, and connections that will help you throughout and after college.
When and what is the Welcome Week activity?
The Welcome Jacks host the annual RHA Casino Night on the night before the first day of class. RHA Casino Night features a variety of casino games including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Texas Hold’em, and more. Participants play for a chance to win prizes such as SFA gear, TVs, MP3 players, restaurant gift certificates, and more. Everyone on campus is welcome to attend!
How do I become a Welcome Jack ?
Anyone interested in being a Welcome Jack must submit an application to the Residence Hall Association. Applications are currently available at the RHA Office in the Lumberjack Village Community Center. Welcome Jack applications will also be available during Freshman Orientation.
When will I know if I am accepted?
All applicants will notified either by e-mail or phone.
